This accessibility statement applies to the InSite Government Property Portal website.

This website is run by the Cabinet Office. We want as many people as possible to be able to use this website. We’ve made the website text as simple as possible to understand and you should be able to:

  • Change colours, contrast levels and fonts using browser or device settings
  • Zoom in up to 400% without the text spilling off the screen
  • Navigate most of the website using a keyboard or speech recognition software
  • Listen to most of the website using a screen reader (including the most recent versions of JAWS, NVDA and Voiceover)

AbilityNet has advice on making your device easier to use if you have a disability.

How accessible this website is

We know some parts of this website are not fully accessible:

  • There are some issues navigating the Map views for people using keyboard navigation or screen readers
  • When adding a new property and navigating backwards there will be times when the address entered will not be remembered and will have to be input again
  • Some of the tabular data for Property Records may not be easy to understand for people using screen readers
  • The Size filtering options in Search results may not be easy to understand for people using screen readers
  • There is no warning or option to extend your session before it times out and forces you to log in again
  • There are some colour contrast issues with placeholder text in some form fields
  • When filters are applied to the Search functionality, sighted users will see a message telling them that results are being loaded. This will not be announced to people using screen readers

  • There is no warning or option to extend a session before it times out. This fails WCAG 2.2 success criterion 2.2.1 Timing Adjustable (Level A).

  • Placeholder text in some of the form fields does not have sufficient colour contrast with its background. This fails WCAG 2.2 success criterion 1.4.3 Contrast (Minimum) (Level AA).
  • The icon that displays when Search results are being loaded is not announced to screen readers. This fails WCAG 2.2 success criterion 4.1.3 Status Messages (Level AA).
